Common Sense Leadership

The messages that are contained in this book are for any leader at any level of any organization and are intended to improve leadership skills, day in and day out, one action at a time.  In fact, the principles apply not only to the workplace but to leadership in general because, in so many ways, we are all leaders.  Parents, hockey coaches, Rotary Club Presidents, school teachers and thousands of others must all demonstrate leadership skills to someone else at some point in time if they are to be successful.

The spirit and intent of this book is not to drone on ad nauseum about theories of management and leadership.  It is, instead, intended to help managers and others consider ways that they can become better leaders for their people.  Leadership is not the sole purview of our senior management teams.  It is something we can all improve upon.  My good friend, Dan Carter, in both his book and his inspirational messages, talks about it being “the right time NOW”.  We can all make improvements to our leadership style and that can begin NOW.
